Baked Pesto Chicken with Angel Hair Pasta and bread! 

   This is my first post in a while so let me start by saying that this year I have made a New Years resolution. Every Friday I am cooking a home cooked meal with fresh ingredients. This year I have already made tuna casserole and the above amazing dish. Also I will be doing reviews of the recipes I try so that you can get an idea of what the food is like.
 
      On a normal week day for my fiancee and I eat take out pizza or frozen foods. Which all taste great. However you can only order the same meal so many times before it becomes boring. After two weeks now when I find myself in the frozen food section I find myself thinking where is the variety?

     Well here it is! Not only is this dish absolutely amazing but it was cheaper then eating out. I ventured far from the frozen foods and actually discovered I enjoy fresh healthier foods. For the picky eaters out there guess what? My fiancee and I are extremely picky. We both our set in our ways and run in terror at the sight of vegetables. However the chicken was the perfect combination and we never knew tomatoes could taste so good.

   After some research I found this website with 8 weeks worth of easy dinner recipes. While it will take me longer to post since I am only doing this once a week I am willing to try everything on this list.

   The chicken recipe above cost me around 25$ at loblaws which included buying some fruits (bananas and blueberries). As seen below this is all I needed to make this meal for three people plus I have left over pasta, cheese, a tomato and basil.

   The recipe was really straight forward and easy. Not to mention I served my fiancee and his friend first and by the time I had my plate set up my picky fiancee had his completely cleared. The tomato really works well with the basil pesto and cheese. My fiancee isn't a fan of white meat chicken so I substituted it for boneless chicken thighs.

    Baked Pesto Chicken Ingredients:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
½ cup basil pesto
2 plum tomatoes
shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cover cookie sheet with foil.
2. Put pesto and chicken in bowl. Toss until chicken is covered.
3. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
4. Place slices of tomato on top of chicken and sprinkle with cheese.
5. Bake another 3-5 minutes.
6. Serve with a box of angel hair pasta and herbs and French bread.

  Note another name for angel hair pasta is capellini. You don't need to add herbs as the basil pesto acts as a sort of sauce with the pasta.

My views on religion (Blog made for fjookenterprises)

Hi. I am writing this so you can understand my views on religion. This is not a way to convert anyone. This is just how I feel and think. I am writing this to counter argue with fjookenterprises as he has been trying to find the religion for him but always seems to find flaws in every religion he tries.

Don't get me wrong I believe there must be something after death. I was born and raised catholic. I am baptized, I have my first communion and first confession. However I do not believe that the catholic version of the afterlife is the only possibility. The way I see it no one has technically been there to explore and come back (I will get to near death experiences later). There is no way to prove that god exists. I believe that  there has to be something after death and that we can't just cease to exist. Maybe there will be many different gods as there are many different religions.

Near death experiences that happen in a medical setting cannot be taken as proof. The people that are seeing this "light at the end of the tunnel" are also very high on medications to reduce pain. For example when my grandmother was dying of cancer they had her on morphine. She swore my uncle was standing over her late at night when in fact he was at home sleeping. Drugs can do weird things to your brain including making you see things that aren't actually there or perceive things differently then you normally would. Maybe that light at the end of the tunnel is actually a light in the hospital room or the doctor shining a light in your eyes.

Other near death experiences can also bring up the seeing a light at the end of a tunnel or life flashing before your eyes. Honestly this might be a reaction to pain or your mind not wanting you to witness your own death so it is trying to make you think or other things that have happened in your life to take the fear of death away. Also if you are part of the catholic religion (and others) the first thing that comes to mind when you think of death is your version of the afterlife. In this case would it not make sense that when you are staring death in the face you think about your version of the afterlife to the point that you image you are there?

This is going to sound very odd but recently I was watching the Disney movie Hercules and out of nowhere I thought of the comparison between the greek religion and the catholic religion. Hercules was taken from the gods and brought to a couple of normal people on earth to care for him. Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph so they could raise him. Hercules and Jesus both saved peoples lives. I'm not saying they are the same but the similarities seem to go on and on. How can it be that so many different religions have so many of the same ideas but with different names and faces. Maybe no one religion is wrong. Maybe it is just that they are telling the story differently.

In conclusion I would like to say I believe in something after death but I do not necessarily believe in the catholic god. In the end we will have no choice in what happens to us after death and at that time we will all need to accept it.     

Falling into nothingness

Imagine that rush you get when your playing your favorite video game? Awesome right?
Now add fear to that equation.

For me everytime I pick up a remote I get to experience a fear and a thrill like no other.
Let me start at the beginning.

I was ten year old. My aunt and uncle had a 3do system. I loved it. I played as often as I could. It was my mom and dads anniversary and I was being babysat. Sure enough I pulled out the controller and started playing theme park. I was typing in my name and the letters were spinning on the screen. All of a sudden I felt my muscles lock. My whole body was shaking. I no longer was in control of my muscles. I could still see and hear. My mouth just wouldn't work no matter how much I wanted to scream. After what seemed like hours I finally regained control. Everything after that is a blur.

the difference between men and women.

Hello everyone.
Today I would like to talk about a major difference I have noticed between men and women. I have lived with my fiancee for well over two years. As I am sure many of you have noticed that most men are extremely messy! I'm not stereotyping! I know some men who are extremely tidy as well as some women who are messy. However I have a theory as to why most men are messy.

In my opinion I believe that it comes down to how people enjoy there time. What I mean by this is that most men prefer to do chores as fast as possible so that they can enjoy the new video game they bought or leave to go out with their friends. While women on the other hand either feel relaxed from cleaning (Like me!) or feel the need to be tidy and in order before they can relax. Honestly when I am stressed out I go straight to cleaning and it relives my stress.

These different views in what is relaxing is what causes a majority of arguments (at least in my relationship) because we just don't get each other. For example while he is playing his video game and I am cleaning I may come in and say "why don't you come help me?" he will immediately protest and tell me he's busy. Which is true. He is only doing what I am doing. Relaxing!

For me at least when I look at the hard work I put into cleaning I feel really good about myself. I know I tried hard and I succeed. It is similar to the feeling I get when I complete a video game.
So what I am getting at is men and women are different. We need to keep that in mind.

Weight loss game

Ever heard that stress leads to weight gain because when you are stressed you eat more?
Many of us think that if we go on a diet we will lose lots of weight. Some of us even go to the extreme of even eating nothing or very little. However this is putting major stress on your body. Stress is very dangerous. If you change your diet to drastically your body will go into shock. NO YOU WILL NOT LOSE WEIGHT RIGHT AWAY FROM NOT EATING! In reality we should either slowly cut back on the calories and fat. As well as increasing our exercising.
What I have done so far in my weight loss journey is I have completely cut soft drinks out of my life. Not drinking soft drinks is really easy to do if you set your mind to it. This leads ultimately to you eating out less because you will notice that most fast food restaurants offer very little alternatives to pop. When you do eat out it will be at a healthier restaurant that provides you with more options or you will at the very least save yourselves from the unneeded calories and unhealthy chemicals that are in all soft drinks.
